Isle of Skye

April 17, we arrive on the Isle of Skye. http://www.skye.co.uk/
We stayed in Portree which is on the east coast about half way up the island. We stayed at Meadowbank B&B. http://www.isleofskye.net/meadowbankhouse/The owners Peter and Elaine were very nice and the breakfasts were fantastic. I actually ate haggis (well, vegetarian haggis) and it was really tasty.

We did lots of shopping here. There are lots of pottery galleries, jewelry designers and my favorite...yarn! (see my knintting blog)

Another thing the Isle of Skye has plenty of is sheep.

Sheep in the road. Sheep everywhere! They just walk right out into the road and you have to sit there and wait for them to move. They even wander around town.

On our way to the ferry at Uig we passed the Old Man of Storr. And I think the other picture is Kilt Rock.

Waterfalls, church ruins, quaint villages and boats. Everywhere we looked we saw beauty.
