Today!!!

Today, today, today! I leave today! In exactly one hour I head to drop off my car, pick up my mom and head to the airport. I'm all packed. Dog/cat sitter is all set up. Work is all caught up. I'm so ready, I've needed a vacation for about a year. I probably won't be able to post until I get back, but if I can I will.

See you all in May!

Just four more days to go

I'm so excited I can hardly sit still. We leave in four days, 1 hour and 55 minutes. This will be an incredible trip. I've contacted the host of the edinburghcast podcast and he has offered to show us around the town when we get there. I've confirmed all the B&B's and even picked out a few restaurants to try.

We've booked several tours, including a boat trip to the Isle of Staffa. Fingal's cave is an amazing natural formation. See pics here: http://www.transcotland.com/staff_ph.htm . Weather permitting, cross your fingers!

So I've already figured out most of what I'm taking. I need to try and find some really warm socks. Sheesh, you'd think I'd have planned ahead and just knitted some. Oh well.

Seven days and counting

It's Friday the 7th of April, 3:30 pm. Exactly one week from right now I'll be checking my bags, heading for security and getting ready to hop on a plane to the UK. I'm very excited about the trip. Two weeks in Scotland, I never thought it would get here!

This weekend will be spent nailing down what I'm taking, getting travelers checks and making sure I haven't forgotten anything. I've been staging certain groups of things, AV/electronics, travel aids, what to put in my carryon for the flight over. Don't forget earplugs, bottled water, knitting (see my other blog) oh and a million other things. I'll be ready!
